FREESTYLE
We run regular coached freestyle training sessions for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. Even if you’ve never tried freestyle but always wanted to, come along and have a go! A lot of our members come to us as experienced skiers but new to flips and tricks, and we think that your time with EUSSC is the perfect opportunity to try. We cater for anybody that wants to hit the slopes on a regular basis!
In first semester, we are lucky enough to train at the Bearsden and Bellahouston dry slopes in Glasgow, where we will be alternating between beginner and advanced freestyle sessions. Bearsden has both a small and big jump to cater to all abilities, as well as a quarter-pipe, and Bellahouston has a small jump and rails set up for less confident members. This gives us hours of joy and tips from the experts in the run up to SUDS and the BUDS, our two dry slope competitions. These are some of the highlights of the year, for spectators and competitors alike!
After SUDS and BUDS, we continue the action every week at various slopes in Scotland, be it Glasgow’s Snow Factor, Bearsden or in the snowy Highland mountains. Come second semester, we hold weekly training sessions at the indoor ski slope in preparation for our competitions on snow, culminating in the championships out in the Alps over Easter.
As well as ski based trainings, we also take opportunity of our close proximity to Ryze, the trampoline park just outside of Edinburgh. Here, you can get the chance to hone new tricks before you try them out on the slopes. We also run weekend trips down to Manchester to the legendary Graystone Action Sports Academy.
